Importance of International Women’s Day
International Women’s Day is powered by cooperative efforts, collective action, and shared ownership for managing gender parity and includes everything that makes International Women’s Day impactful.
Gloria Steinem, world-renowned feminist, journalist, and activist once defined, “The story of women’s fight for equality refers to no single feminist nor any one organization but to the combined forces of all who care about human rights. “
Thus, make International Women’s Day your day and do whatever you can to truly create a positive difference for women. The current year’s theme is “Women in Leadership: Achieving a COVID-19-free future,” women and girls around the world are recognized for their efforts in shaping a more equal future and recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the gaps that remain. Thus, education is one weapon that can help in managing gender inequality, says the Top B.Tech. College in India.
UN’s Perspective on Women’s Condition Across the Globe
Everyone benefits from women’s full and effective participation and leadership in all areas of life. According to a recent UN report, women are underrepresented in public life and decision-making. Twenty-two countries have female presidents or prime ministers and national parliamentarians. To achieve gender parity among heads of government at the current rate of progress, it will take another 130 years.
Women are strong, powerful, and invincible, and they can overcome any obstacle they face. Given the fact that women are constantly encouraged to live their lives by thousands of daily mantras, a special day is indeed needed to recognize their achievements in all areas of life.
Women have made the world a better place with their strength, determination, and belief, whether they are teachers, homemakers, economists, engineers, or pioneers. Today, women have the power to break the shackles of patriarchy, making them a more formidable force in modern society.
